Tips For Grilling Awesome Burgers

Labor Day Weekend is here and that means a weekend with family and friends, filled with fun and FOOD! Specifically grilling out. Here are some helpful tips to make sure your burgers are awesome.

1) Don’t use hamburger with too much fat. Too much fat means flare ups, and you definitely don’t want that. You will burn the outside of the burger while the inside may still be raw. Go with the ground beef with a lower percentage of fat and you will be golden.

2) Don’t season too soon. Salt draws out the moisture in the meat and you will end up with dry burgers. Season RIGHT before they go on the grill.

3) Don’t cut into them to see how done they are. You will lose all of the juices in the burger. If you need a general idea of how done they are, only cut into ONE of them. But then YOU should eat that one because it will be drier than the rest. Plus if you have to cut into more than one to make sure they aren’t raw….somebody else should probably be working the grill.

4) Don’t let the buns get soggy. My recommendation is brushing the buns with a little melted butter and toasting the buns before placing the burger on them.

And Finally, make sure you have a cold beverage handy, because a true grill master cannot perform without proper hydration. And I always like to have my favorite music on while grilling out and entertaining, so be sure to turn on Nash FM 973 or listen on your mobile devices by downloading and listening on Rdio. Have a fun and safe holiday weekend, happy grilling and cheers! –Jim
