Parking meters in Peoria will soon be going digital. While you can still pay with quaters, nickels and dimes, the public works department is working out a contract with an app vendor to make paying for parking digital as well.
The free Passport Parking App can be downloaded with any smart phone, and users can make payments through it. Drivers will also be able to make payments by calling or by computer as well.
There's no timetable for the meters yet, but rest assured, they are coming. No more searching under the seats for those loose dimes and nickels to pay the meter. Were in the digital age now. ~Matt Hall
