A frightening stop in Iowa turned into a close call for LANCO after the band’s tour bus caught fire during a winter weather delay. The group said the trouble started after a show in Des Moines, when heavy snow and dangerous road conditions forced everyone to change plans on the way back to Nashville.
In an update shared after the incident, the band explained that local authorities helped get the group, crew members, and opening acts to a hotel for the night. The driver stayed with the bus, then woke up early Monday morning to find it on fire. He made it out with minor injuries.
Photos and video from the scene showed the bus badly damaged by flames. The band said the equipment trailer made it through, but some instruments and personal items were lost in the fire.
Even with that damage, the biggest takeaway was simple. Everyone survived. After a tense night on the road, the group said they were grateful the situation did not end much worse.
