The 54th annual Tremont Turkey Festival is this weekend! It’s one of the top summer get-togethers around every year with equal parts summer homecoming and small town warmth, good times, competitions, carnival rides and, of course, great food.
Delicious grilled turkey is the star of the show. Make sure you make it out to Tremont, off Route 9, for a turkey sandwich or two, plus strawberry shortcake and smoothies, but there’s plenty of other tasty fair food, too. Don’t miss the Saturday morning breakfast, too.
Dozens of events, entertainment and competitions will take place over the three-day turkeyfest, too many to mention. So click HERE for the events schedule. New this year, they’ll accept credit/debit card payments at the food lines, Turkey Express, strawberry shortcake tent, and in the country store
I’ll be out there Saturday morning at 11 O’Clock hosting the annual Turkey Toss at the baseball field behind the pool. For a mere $5, you get three chances to heave a frozen turkey – sorry, this is not a WKRP in Cincinnati turkey drop episode. The adult who tosses is the farthest wins $50, while the winner of the 12-and-under age group wins carnival rides.
Come out to one of the top summer festivals in the area, if not the state, this weekend, Friday through Sunday. It’s the Tremont Turkey Festival with 97.3 Nash FM.
