This Bride Got a Wonderful Surprise Before Her Wedding…

I’ve never been married… I’ve never planned a wedding. I’ve been in weddings. I’ve DJ’d weddings. But I have never had to think about things like custom ordering beautiful wedding SHOES!

Emma, who is from the UK, was engaged in 2016… but things didn’t go as planned… NO not with her fiance, but with her mother. Just one month after she was engaged, her mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was planning the wedding, hoping her mom could make it, but she did not, and passed away in 2017.

Emma had ordered custom made bridal shoes to wear on her big day, and paid the deposit. Little did she know, her mom called the company and paid off the rest of the shoes, and asked if a special letter could be inscribed on the soles. Emma received the shoes last week. She said she was in “absolute shock” when she received them- her fiance had known, and kept the secret. The beautiful message said “wanted you to have a gift from me on your wedding day. Your wedding shoes are my gift to you. Hope you have a magical day. Lots of love and big hugs, mum.”

Just take a second to put yourself in Emma’s shoes (pun NOT intended but it definitely works). You’re very close with your mom, who gets diagnosed with cancer and dies. You’re planning a wedding without the one person who usually helps the most, and just before the wedding, you get this BEAUTIFUL gift from her… EVEN though she passed away two years ago. I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying. Okay. I am… and I’m ugly crying…

But also, take a look at these GORGEOUS shoes…

Emma also said that her mother had started writing letters to family members, but passed away before she had the chance to write one for Emma, so it makes these shoes EXTRA special to her.

The maker of the shoes said by the message her mother sent asking to pay, she knew she was not going to make it to Emma’s wedding day, and the shoes were always meant to be given after she was gone.

So,  Emma gets to feel like her mom IS there on her big day… even just a little.
