Suicide Squad is the newest DC Comic-turned-movie that’s set to be released in theaters tomorrow. It’s about the super-villains of the DC world, who have all been incarcerated. A US Intelligence Officer decides to use them for some dangerous missions, since they are expendable, and they have a micro bomb implanted so if they disobey the orders, they’ll be killed. Or something like that.
I’m not the girl who read the comics, but I really enjoy the movies, and honestly, not having read them before I see them makes it that much better to not know what’s coming. The Harry Potter series, all I could see of the movies is the parts they left out of the book, so I’m happy to explore great stories without having that judgement hanging over the movie like a dark cloud.
I don’t know if the critics for the movie were fans of the comics and are mad at the changes, or if perhaps the movie really is that bad, but it has a 28% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s one stinky, rotten tomato of a movie.
Fans of the comics are not so thrilled with this, and have garnered over 18,000 signatures on a petition in the aim of shutting down the review website.
Good luck with THAT, right? That’s like trying to shut down Walmart when you’re upset they wouldn’t refund you $2.49 for a moldy loaf of bread.
Apparently, the author of the petition thought the same thing, because he or she closed the petition stating “In fact i started this petition to gather dc fans to express our anger just for fun. I didn’t mean it to be taken that serious. After thinking. I found this petition pointless. And the only thing that it does is spreading a speech…”
