The Chicago Cubs had an amazing 2015 season missing the world series by only a few games. To make the memory of the season a special one, the Cubs are allowing fans to take home squares of sod from Wrigley Field for free. Here’s when and how you can grab a piece for your yard.
Every year, the Cubs replace much of the grass in Wrigley Field during the off season. This year, they plan to cut the sod into 18 inch x 18 inch sections and place them outside the field for fans to take home free of charge.
According to NBC Chicago, the sod will be available through tomorrow Nov. 3 on a first-come, first-served basis. Fans can find the pieces of Wrigley Field sod along Sheffield Avenue just north of Addison Street near the “knothole gate.”
Take it home, put it in your yard or a family members yard, and you will truly be the “Ultimate Cubs Fan”! -Jim
