If your planning on having pumpkin pie this thanksgiving, you might want to stock up on your pumpkin filling and canned pumpkin now.
While there will be enough pumpkins for the rest of October, there may not be enough to get us to thanksgiving. The rainy weather we experienced here in June has caused less of a yield in pumpkin crops this year which means less pumpkins to go around.
Illinois produces about 90 percent of the canned pumpkin for the entire U.S with most of them being grown here in central Illinois. The smaller pumpkin crops this year means less canned pumpkin for you. So if your at the store, you might wanna stock up on canned pumpkin now, as it might not be available in November. FULL STORY
