How can you help the Peoria Zoo??? You can take part in the 37th Annual Zoo Run Run on Saturday, August 29th. It’s a 5K Grand Prix race that will wind through the beautiful Peoria Zoo and Glen Oak Park. There will also be a 1/4 mile youth run.
The 5K race starts and ends near the Africa! portal and starts at 8:30 followed by the youth race at 9:15.
Race registration includes a 2015 Zoo Run Run t-shirt, prizes and post-race food. This year, a chance to win a special prize will be given to runners who sport their best Zoo attire.
Early bird fees for members is $20 and for non-members is $25. Early bird fees for the youth race for members is $10 and for non-members $12. After August 22nd the price for the 5K Grand Prix goes up $5. For the youth race the price goes up for a couple of dollars.
Registration forms are available here and at the Safari Gift Shop at the Peoria Zoo. Last minute registration and packet pick-up is Friday, August 28th from 4-6pm and on race day from 7:30-8am outside the Tropics Building at Peoria Zoo. For more information call Jessica Slater at 681-3500.
