You knew it was coming and it was only a matter of time. Yesterday the U.S. Postal Service announced they will be stopping Saturday mail service begining in August.

From cinewsnow.com

The move is in response to the postal services financial problems and is expected to save the company over $2 billion dollars per year.

Post Master General Richard Donahoe:

"Seventy percent of Americans have said they would consistently support five day delivery of mail and packages given the financial condition of the postal service," said Postmaster General Richard Donahoe.

USPS locations will still be open on Saturdays, along with P.O. box deliveries.
