The Peoria Chiefs are trading in their Cubbie Blue to Cardinal Red. Yesterday Chief's president Rocky Vonachen announced a new 4 year agreement to bring the Cardinals affiliation back to Peoria.
We're already selling tickets," said Vonachen. "We've had some calls this morning, we've had people on Twitter and Facebook asking how can we get season tickets. So far we're off to a great start."
This is all happening because the Chicago Cubs have decided to move thier Class A affiliation to the Kane County Cougars. The fans seem pretty happy about it, especially Cardinal fan Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis
"I think it's great for the community," Ardis said. "If you can't have one team or the other it would be bad."
Next tuesday their will be a press conference open to the public where Cardinals GM John Mozielak will sign the papers and make everything all official.
Don't expect the Chiefs to change too much, but Vonachen does say their be a little more red added to the uniform. Go Chiefs!
