
Next Sunday the 2013 NASCAR season gets started with the Daytona 500 and this year it makes history.
Danica Patrick becomes the first woman in Sprint Cup history to take the pole! She beat out Jeff Gordan by just 33/1000's of a second to lead the field in "The Great American Race". Danica will also drive the Go Daddy car the entire season.
This will also be the first race with the new "Generation 6" cars. These cars look just like the cars we can buy from our car dealers.
Other changes include Ricky Stenhouse Jr who will to replace Matt Kenseth, who decided not to renew his contract with Roush Fenway Racing.
Kenseth replaces Joey Logano in the #20. Logano moves to Penske Racing, replacing A.J.Allmendinger who was suspended last season. Kurt Busch who had sponsorship problems the last few years, replaces Reagan Smith who moves to the Nationwide Series. Also, David Reutimann will drive the #83 this season.
Also this year, Dodge is out. Manufactures are Chevy, Ford and Toyota.
It's a new season, new cars and new drivers. Get ready NASCAR fans.
