Late Night Hosts Continue Shows Despite Hurricane Sandy
11:09AM Tuesday
October 30, 2012

Everyone in New York City and the East Coast are pretty much hunkered down waiting for the wrath of Sandy to  let up, but apparently the weather wasn't enough to keep a few Late Night hosts from their craft. Lots of New York based TV shows had to suspend or cancel production yesterday including Gossip Girl, The Good Wife, 30 Rock, Law & Order: SVU, Smash, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report. Even Jimmy Kimmel, who was supposed to do his show in New York this week had to cancel his taping due to the storm, even though he'd previously said he would go through with plans.

CBS' Late Show with David Letterman and NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon however, did go through with their tapings, just without a studio audience, which was AWKWARD. You don't realize how much you rely on reactions from the audience to fill moments in the show until no one is there. Poor Dave and Jimmy were just met with "crickets" when they would drop a punchline, and the only people there to laugh were the camera crew. They did their best to poke fun at it, though. Check out some moments from last night's shows:
